IR and UV curing, drying and heating process solutions for next generation automotive interiors
IR and UV technology offer many opportunities to optimize part production for vehicle interiors.
UV-curable inks and coatings improve the appearance and performance of plastic products such as switches, handles, or trim parts. UV coatings or printing inks are applied and then cured with UV light resulting in durable and scratch-resistant components. Latent activation of in-mold films with UV creates soft touch, piano black, or carbon fiber look surfaces.
Infrared heat is used in many processing steps of plastic parts: when deburring steering wheels, airbag housings, glove boxes, when molding dashboards, car carpets, when laminating and concealing headliners when drying or activating adhesives and coatings.
